ANALISIS KARAKTERISTIK LALU LINTAS DATA INTERNET : APLIKASI WEB SOCIAL NETWORK

Abstract


Along with the increasing development of information technology, Internet is often used for communication. Communicating via social network web applications today has become a lifestyle. Network performance indicator when accessing web applications social networks commonly used are bandwidth utilization, delay, jitter and packet loss.

In this research, we will examine the analiysis performance of bandwidth utilization, delay, jitter and packet loss on the web applications social networks:  facebook and twitter. This analysis is expected to help network administrators in terms of network design better future. 

Based on the characteristics of the data traffic on the social network web applications taken within 1 week, it can be concluded as follows : The average percentage of bandwidth utilization used when accessing facebook is 0.33 %, while twitter gives 0.13 %. Looking at these values it can be inferred that facebook requires greater bandwidth than twitter. Moreover, facebook has average delay of 0.83 seconds, while twitter gives 0.57 seconds. In terms of jitter, facebook has 1.21 seconds and twitter gives 0.85 seconds. The average percentage packet loss for facebook is 1.73 % and twitter is 2.32 %.
