PENGENALAN PLAT NOMOR KENDARAAN BERMOTOR MENGGUNAKAN METODE DIAGONAL DISTANCE FEATURE

Abstract


       In this present era, technological advances play an active role in everyday life. Comfort and safety on the parking system is a typical example can be more satisfying if the technology used could be easier and reduced the time to register the vehicle when entering the parking area. Therefore, this study intends to accelerate the process of data collection vehicle by using a camera or an image of a license plate that can be recognized as the data in clear text, so the parking attendant did not need to record the license plate characters manually.

        In the present study is the value input to the character recognition process is 4 diagonal coordinate values of each character obtained from the extraction process using the diagonal distance characteristic feature while for his recognition process using template matching.

         Based on the test results of this study the average of character recognition of the 30 plates. With the character of the amounted to 193 characters with the results of 145 characters can be recognized. Total percentage of successful character recognition is 75.1%.
